Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1 stick butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups golden rasins
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups buttermilk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar together. Melt butter in a pan and add raisins. Cook until soft. Beat egg, buttermilk, and vanilla in another bowl. Add raisins to flour mixture and mix well. Add buttermilk and kneed on a floured board. Put into a 9" tube pan or 2, 9" x 5" pans and bake 1 hour 15 minutes
