Ingredients
- 6 Sweet Potatoes or Yams
- 3 Apples
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp dried Sage (optional)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp Butter or Coconut Oil
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
- NOTE: for healthier version we use 1/2 cup water in place of oil & syrup.
Preparation
Step 1
1. Peel & cube Sweet Potatoes.
2. Peel & slice apples.
3. Place half the sweet potatoes in bottom of slow cooker crockpot.
4. Layer in half the apple slices.
5. Mix together seasonings. Sprinkle half over apples.
6. Melt butter/coconut oil. Mix together with maple syrup. Spoon half over seasonings. (or sub. water, see note above)
7. Repeat layers.
8. Cover. Cook on low 4-6 hours or high 2-3 hours, or until potatoes are soft, stirring occasionally.
To Bake in oven instead...
Bake at 350 until done (probably about 45 minutes)
