Homemade Penne Past

Ingredients

  • 4 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 3 big cans of italian tomatoes with basil
  • 1 small can of low sodium chicken broth, MUST be low sodium
  • 4 T of red pepper flakes
  • 1 Lb of havarti cheese
  • fresh basil
  • fress shredded parmesan
  • olive oil
  • 1 Lb or penne noodles

Preparation

Step 1

In a large sauce pan saute 3 tablespoons of olive oil with garlic and onion. Once onion is translucent, add italian tomatoes, chicken broth, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer all day until tomatoes cook down.

Boil penne noodles.

Drizzle 1-2 T of olive oil in a large bowl or dish that can be put in the oven. Transfer cooked penne noodles into baking dish and shred havarti cheese over the noodles, then stir in sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan and fresh basil.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
