Salisbury Steak w/ Mushroom Wine Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 tbsp. garlic salt or seasoned salt
  • 1/4 tbsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 pkg. (8oz) sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. sweet vermouth or ruby port wine
  • 1 jar (12oz) beef gravy

Preparation

Step 1

Heat large, heavy skillet over med-high heat 3 mins. or till hot. Meanwhile, combine beef, garlic salt & pepper in med. bowl; mix well. Shape mixture into 4 (1/4" thick) oval patties.

Place in skillet 3 mins. per side or till browned. Pour off drippings & transfer to plate.

Melt butter in same skillet; add mushrooms. Cook and stir 2 mins. Add vermouth; cook 1 minute. Add gravy; mix well.

Return patties to skillet; simmer, uncovered, over med. heat 2 mins. for med. or till desired doneness, turning meat and stirring sauce.
