Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon flavoring oil, not extract
- Food coloring
- Powdered sugar
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a very small saucepan, about 4" in diameter, mix sugar, corn syrup and water. Boil over high heat until mixture registers 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in flavoring oil and food coloring.
2. Pour syrup onto a greased cookie sheet. Place in freezer until it hardens like glass.
3. Break or shatter candy into small pieces.
4. Mix broken candy with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
