cup corn syrup
teaspoon flavoring oil, not extract
1. In a very small saucepan, about 4" in diameter, mix sugar, corn syrup and water. Boil over high heat until mixture registers 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in flavoring oil and food coloring. 2. Pour syrup onto a greased cookie sheet. Place in freezer until it hardens like glass. 3. Break or shatter candy into small pieces. 4. Mix broken candy with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
