POT ROAST

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 4 lb. beef chuck pot roast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 C. water

Preparation

Step 1

Melt shortening and brown meat on medium heat about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat; add water to skillet and cover tightly. Simmer on top of range or in 325F oven 3 hours or until tender.
