Nicki's Pepper Steak

Not spicy but sweet with the bell peppers. Serve over rice.

Ingredients
- 500 grams sirloin steak, cut up
- 1/4 cup veggie oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/2 tsp. garlic
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 2 medium green peppers, cut into strips
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2-3 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. soya sauce
- 2 medium tomatoes, cut into eighths
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oil in large frying pan.
Brown meat, turning frequently, about 5 minutes. Stir in water, onion, garlic and ginger. Heat to boiling then reduce and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes. Add peppers during last 5 minutes.
Blend cornstarch, sugar and soya sauce. Stir into meat mixture. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Boil for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and stir gently until heated through.
Serve over rice.
