APPLE BREAD

Ingredients

  • Cream 1/2 cup shortening and add 1 cup of sugar.
  • Add 2 eggs, 2 cups of flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla - dissolve 1 teaspoon baking soda in 2 Tablespoons sour milk (you can use white milk with a few drops of vinegar added).
  • Mix - then add 2 cups diced apples - unpeeled

Preparation

Step 1

Pour into 10" by 5 1/2" loaf pan.


Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees (I add an extra 5 minutes to be sure the middle is not gooey).
