French Lemon Pie

  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup oleo

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs until lemon colored. Add sugar, flour and salt slowly. Add lemon juice, vanilla, buttermilk and oleo, mix well. Pour 3/4 filling into unbaked pie shell. Bake 5 minutes at 375 degrees. Take out of oven, pour remaining filling in the center of pie and return to oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Lay foil lightly over the pie while baking. Makes 1 large or 2 small pies.
