Ingredients
- 8 oz. of cooked & cooled macaroni
- 2 1/2 cups grated sharp or extra sharp cheddar cheese. Reserve 1/2 cup for the top.
- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons softened salted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half & half
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 drops of tabasco sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a baking dish. In a bowl combine the eggs, half & half, salt, tabasco and paprika. In the baking dish alternate the macaroni with the cheese beginning with the cooked macaroni. Pour the egg mixture over macaroni and cheese. Combine the reserved cheese and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over the top of the macaroni and cheese. Dot with softened butter. Bake for about 40 minutes or until bubbly. If desired brown under the broiler.
