Whiskey Sirloin Steak*

Ingredients

  • whiskey 1/4 cup or apple cider
  • soy sauce 1/4 cup reduced-sodium
  • sugar 1 tablespoon
  • garlic 1 clove thinly sliced
  • ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground
  • beef tenderloin steak 1 (1" thick and 1 pound)

Preparation

Step 1

In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first five ingredients; add the beef.
Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
Drain and discard marinade.
Place beef on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 5-6 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°)
