Cream of Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 - 28 ounce can tomatoes
  • 2 slices onion, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first six ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan. Simmer 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf and use an immersion blender to desired consistency. In separate pan melt butter and blend in flour. Stir in milk. Cook and stir until thickened. Slowly add hot tomato mixture, stirring constantly.
