Tomato sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion,chopped
  • 1 clove garlic,finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 can (1lb) italian plum or pear tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh basl (1/2 ) teaspoon dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary (1/8 teaspoon dried &
  • crumbled
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Sate onion and garlic in oil in medium saucepan,over medium heat until onion is soft,about 5 minutes.Remove from heat.Press tomatoes and there liquid through sieve into saucepan,discardind seeds.Stir in remaining ingredients.Heat to boiling.Reduce heat to medium-low and cook,uncovered,10 to 15 minutes,stirring occasionally.Remove from heat.
