Jetta's Rasberry Ribbons

Ingredients

  • Dough- double recipe-
  • 2 stickes butter or oleo- room temp.
  • 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • yolk for large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 C flour
  • Filling
  • 1/2 rasberry or apricot jam
  • 1/2 C powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 t cream, milk or water

Preparation

Step 1

cream butter, sugar, and yolk, vanilla..andd flour..wrap in plastic and refrig for 1 hr or up to 4 days.
divide in 2 pieces. roll in rope 12 inches long & 3/4 inch thick. then use little finger or wooden spoon handle & make a groove down the center of each roll. bake 10 min. @ 350. then spoon jam in groove..then to oven for 15 mins until golden brown. in a small bowl mix sugar, lemon juice,cream. drizzle over slightly cooled rolls. then slice at angle. cool on wire rack
