German Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup rice raw
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 eggs
  • salt
  • vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Bring water to boil add rice sugar and salt, stir well. Cook to almost dry add milk and vanilla and stir well. Bring to a boil, lower and simmer for one hour.

Add beaten egg yolk. Stand to thicken.

Meringue:
3 tablespoons sugar
3 egg whites

Beat to stiff. Oven to brown 350 degrees.
