Sweet & Sour Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean pork, cut in strips
  • 2 Tbs fat (lard, oil)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbs cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 Tbs soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup green pepper
  • 1/4 cup onion
  • 1 can pineapple chunks

Preparation

Step 1

1. Brown pork in fat.
2. Add water, cover and simmer for 1 hour
3. Combine cornstarch, satl, brown sugar, vinegar, pineapple juice, soy sauce and mix
4. Cook until slightly thick, stirring constantly
5. Pour sauce over pork, add green pepper, onion, pineapple chunks and cook for 2-3 min or unil warm throughout
6. Serve over chow mein noodles
