Ingredients
- 6 large potatoes chopped
- Water enough to cover the potatoes in a large sauce pan
- 1 large onion
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 butter
- salt and pepper
Preparation
Step 1
In a large sauce pan boil the potatoes and onions until tender. Once tender, pour water out of the sauce pan reserving only enough to just cover the potatoes and onions. Gently smash the potatoes to your desired consistency. I prefer large chunks of potato. After smashing add just enough milk to the potatoes, onions, and remaining water until the water turns white. Add the butter. Allow the mixture to simmer, add salt and pepper to taste.
