Turkey Gravy

Pure gravy from pan dripping and stock!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 1/3 cups turkey broth or canned chicken broth
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 tsp poutry seasoning

Preparation

Step 1

After removing turkey from roasting pan, srain drippings into large pan and skim 2/3 cup of fat from the surface of drippings (use butter to make up 2/3 cup if not enough fat is present).

Place fat, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning in medium sauce pan (reserve remaining drippings)

Wisk flour into fat in saucepan and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.

measure reserved drippings together with broth; add enough water to equal 5 cups of liquid. Gradually stir broth mixture into flour mixture. Heat to boiling over high heat stirring constantly.
