  • 4 LARGE GRANNY SMITH APPLES PEELED AND THINLY SLICED
  • 1/2 PACKED BROWN SUGAR DIVIDED (1/4 AND 1/4)
  • 2 TSP GROUND CINNAMON, DIVIDED (1 TSP & 1 TSP)
  • 1/3 CUP OLD FASHION OR QUICK COOKING OATS
  • 1/4 CUP ( 1'2 STICK) COLD MARGARINE
  • 25 VANILLA WAFERS CRUSHED (ABOUT 1 CUP CRUMBS)
  • 1 1/2 CUPS THAWED COOL WHIP OR REDI-WHIP TO TOP THE FINISHED PIE

Preparation

Step 1

TOSS APPLES WITH 1/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR, AND 1 TSPCINNAMON
SPOON INTO 8 OR 9 INCH SQUARE BAKING DISH.
COMBINE OATS, REMAINING BROWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON IN A MED. BOWL. CUT IN MARGARINE WITH PASTRY BLENDER UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COURSE CRUMBS.
STIR IN WAFER CRUMBS
SPRINKLE OVER APPLES
BAKE 30 TO 35 MINUTES OR UNTIL SPPLES ARE TENDER
SERVE TOPPED WITH COOL WHIP OR REDI-WHIP
