Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted self rising flour
- 1/4 tsp soda
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup buttermilk
- melted butter
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425. Sift flour, sugar, soda. Cut shortening into flour mixture until resembles coarse meal. Stir in buttermilk. Knead on floured board.
Roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut into 1 1/2 inch rounds with biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on floured baking sheet (greased) touching each other.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
