Ingredients
- 1 unbaked Deep Dish Oronoque Pie Shell
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 4-5 tart Apples (Greenings, Baldwins)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Salt (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425, preheat cookie sheet.
Pare apples; slice into a bowl. Mix sugar, spices and salt. Combine with apples and place in pie shell. Make crumb topping and sprinkle on top. Place on heated metal cookie sheet.
Bake at 425 for 15 minutes.
Reduce heat to 375 and continue to bake until apples are tender (about 35-45 minutes).
*If crumbs begin to get too brown, cover with aluminum foil.
