Sweet & Sour Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 lb fresh green beans-trimmed
  • 6 bacon slices, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Cook beans in boiling salted water to cover 9 min or until crisp-tender, drain. Plunge into salted ice water, drain. Cut into 1 inch pieces. Cook bacon until crisp, reserve 1 tbsp drippings in skillet, stir in sugar and vinegar, cook 5 min, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add beans and bacon to skillet, toss, cook 2 min more.
