Strawberry Jam Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pkg. white cake mix
  • 1 c. finely crushed cornflakes
  • 1 c. strawberry jam or preserves

Preparation

Step 1

In mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar till smooth. Add egg; mix well. Gradually add dry cake mix and cornflakes. Set aside 1 1/2 c. for topping. Press remaining dough into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 pan.
Carefully spread the jam over crust. Sprinkle w/ reserved dough; gently press down. Bake at 350 for 30 mins. or till golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack. Cut into bars.
