Lemon Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c raisins
  • 3/4 c sour milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 3/4 c flour
  • Grated rind of 1 lemon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and add shortening
Add egg and beat
Mix baking soda and flour
Add to above mix alternately with milk
Bake at 350 F for 3/4 hr in a loaf tin
While hot cover top with lemon juice mixed with 1/2 c sugar
