Tomato Sauce for Veal Parmigiana

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 c chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic,crushed
  • 1 an (24 oz) undrained Italian tomatoes,plum
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp basil
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

In hot oil in a medium saucepan saute onion and garlic until golden (about 5 min)
Add tomatoes,sugar,salt,oregano,basil and pepper
Mix well,mashing tomatoes
Bring to boiling
Reduce heat and simmer,covered, for 10 min
