Karen Bryant Spinach N Strawberry Salad

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bag fresh spinach
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup safflower oil
  • 2 tablespoons salad vinegar (red wine)
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of tabasco sauce
  • 1 pint strawberries, cleaned, hulled and sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Heat over to 350 degrees. Wash, trim and dry spinach. Refrigerate. Toast sesame seeds on a pie plate in oven 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.

Shake seeds once or twice while baking. Cool.

Combine oil, vinegar, sugar, onions, salt, pepper and tabasco sauce in tightly covered container. Shake until sugar and salt are dissolved. Refrigerate.

To serve - tear spinach in bite size pieces. Combine with sesame seed in a salad bowl. Toss with dressing. Gently toss in strawberries.
