Fish Surruwa

Mellow curry from the island of Fiji

Ingredients

  • 4 Fish Fillets (quatered)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 Chillies (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tomatoes (medium diced
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Tsp Tumereic powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin
  • 400 Ml Coconut milk
  • 3 Tbsp Oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in large saucepan. Add onion and chilies cook until onions are transparent.

Add tomatoes, tumeric and cumin stirring constantly

Lower heat and add fish pieces. Sprinkle lemon juice over fish and turn peices until cooked lightly on each side.

Pour coconut milk over fish and simmer for a further 5 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste
