Cornbread - Apple Cheddar

Ingredients

  • 1/3 C. cornmeal
  • 3/4 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 T. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 T. sugar
  • 1 1/2 T. light brown sugar
  • 1/3 C. buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 3 tsp. melted butter
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cubed sweet apple
  • Grated cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat over to 350 degrees.

Combine all ingredients. Grease skillet with buitter, fill with batter and top with a small handful of grated cheddar.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
