Ingredients
- 2 large realsweet vidilia onions
- 2 cups flor
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon oregano, dried
- 1 teaspoon basil, dried
- 3 cups breadcrumbs
- 4 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 and place parchment paper on baking sheets, set aside.
Slice onions into large rings, seperate them, and set aside.
Combine flour, paprika, oregano, basil and salt in a small bowl.
In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and eggs.
Add half of flour mixture to the buttermilk and beat until smooth and thickened.
Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Lightly dredge onion rings in flour mixture. Let excess batter dip off dredge in the breadcrumbs mixture.
Arrange ring on baking sheets in a single layer, drizzle olive oil over rings and place in the oven.
Cook until golden bbrown, 14 to 20 minutes, flipping each ring over once half way thorough cooking.
