Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2-4 tbsp minced red onion or thinly sliced green onion
- 1-2 serrano chiles, stemmed, seeded and minced
- 2 tbsp cilantro leaves and tender stems, finely chopped
- dash of freshly ground pepper
- 1/2 ripe tomato, seeds and pulp removed, chopped and reserved
Preparation
Step 1
Slice avocados in half and remove seed. Using a spoon, scoop flesh into a medium bowl. Roughly mash with a fork. Stir in salt, lime juice, onion, chiles and cilantro. Season to taste with black pepper.
Refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve. Stir in reserved tomato, and adjust seasonings if desired.
