French Onion Soup (Crockpot)

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs onions-cut 1/2 thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted and melted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 (32oz) beef broth
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Cook onions and butter, salt pepper and olive oil in crockpot for 10-12 hours on low. Add beef broth, balsamic vinegar, fresh thym(2 sprigs) Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Season to taste. Add salt and pepper. Stir in 1/3 cup brandy.
Preheat oven to 350.
Bake 20-30 minutes then Broil 2-3 minutes
Jarsberg cheese and baguette bread in crocks.
