Ingredients
- Melt 4 tablespoons shortening in hot skillet.
- 1 c. self-rising cornmeal (Martha White Buttermilk Corn Meal Mix)
- 1/4 flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 t. baking soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
Mix extremely well.
Pour 1/2 of shortening into mix.
Then pour mix into hot skillet.
Bake at 400 degrees.
Turn when one side is brown. (10 - 20 minutes)
