Cornbread

Ingredients

  • Melt 4 tablespoons shortening in hot skillet.
  • 1 c. self-rising cornmeal (Martha White Buttermilk Corn Meal Mix)
  • 1/4 flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Mix extremely well.
Pour 1/2 of shortening into mix.
Then pour mix into hot skillet.
Bake at 400 degrees.
Turn when one side is brown. (10 - 20 minutes)
