Garlic-Ginger Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. chicken wings
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c water
  • 1 c soy sauce
  • 1 chopped red onion
  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 T ginger
  • 2 T sesame oil
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • green onions for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Place chicken in a large resealable bag. For Marinade in bowl combine sugar, water, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, red onion, and sesame oil. Pour over chicken , seal bag and marinade in the refrigerator 4 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.

Once marinaded, drain chicken reserving marinade. Preheat oven to
400 degrees. Line baking pan with foil and spray with nonstick spray. Bake for 30 minutes or until no longer pink.

Place marinade in saucepan and boil until reduced to 1 cup. Set aside.

Grill chicken turning once and brushing with marinade. Transfer to plate and garnish with green onions if desired.
