By

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb flank steak
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp dark sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 4 cups hot cooked short grain rice
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 16 red lettuce leaves

Preparation

Step 1

Cut the steak across the grain into 1/4 inch slices. Then cut the slices into 1/2 inch by 3 inch strips. Combine the steak with 1/4 cup onions, sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and the sesame oil.

Heat a 14 inch wok (or a large saute pan) over high heat and add 1 tbsp canola oil. Add 1/2 the steak mixture to the pan and stir fry for 2 min until lightly browned. Remove the steak to another bown and repeat with the 2nd half of the steak and another tbsp of canola oil. Sprinkle the cooked steak with the remaining onions and the sesame seeds.

Spoon 1/4 cup rice, 2 tbsp steak mixture, and 1 tbsp of kimchi onto each lettuce leaf. Roll up and serve immediately.
