Ingredients
- 4 medium firm ripe bananas, halved crosswise
- one 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips (or butterscotch chips)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- for the toppings: granola, coconut, or crushed, toasted peanuts
Preparation
Step 1
peel bananas and insert a popsicle stick into cut end. there should be about 2 1/2 inches of stick showing. wrap loosely in wax paper and freeze for 2 hours.
in top of double boiler; melt chocolate with cream and butter until smooth and set aside. arrange toppings on plates.
transfer melted chocolate to a tall, narrow glass, such as a juice glass. dip each banana into chocolate, allowing excess to drip off, then roll in favorite topping.
