Ingredients
- 1 elephant garlic head
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- black pepper, freshly ground
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Peel off as much outer skin from garlic as possible. Make level cut across narrow and of bulb exposing individual cloves.
Put garlic exposed side up in oven-proof dish. Drizzle olive oil over garlic.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until cloves are soft.
The roasted garlic can then be spread on grilled meats, toasted bread with melted swiss cheese, mixed into mashed potatoes, or used as a pizza topping.
