VEGETARIAN CHILI

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) can V-8 Juice
  • 2 cans (14-oz each) sliced-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 TB chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 medium) green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 (10-oz) can tomato soup
  • 1 (l4-cup) Grapenuts cereal
  • 3 cans red beans, undrained
  • 1 pkg onion soup mix
  • 2 TB molasses or brown sugar
  • 2 ribs celery, finely minced
  • 2 TB dry minced onion

Preparation

Step 1

As listed combine all ingredients in 3-qt saucepan or kettle. Heat gently, medium high, stirring often, till piping hot. Reduce heat to low. Allow to cook, covered, stirring occasional-y, till peppers & celery are tender.

Serves 6 sensibly.

Freeze in small portions to thaw & rewarm gently in 3 months.
