Pineaple Pretzel salad

Ingredients

  • 1 C crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/2 C margarine (1 stick) melted
  • 1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 2 C Cool Whip
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 C sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together 1 C pretzels, 1/2 C sugar, and 1/2 C melted margarine. Pour into 8 x 8 greased pan or baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

In a sauce pan mix pineapple and 2 T corn starch. Heat until it thickens, and set aside to cool.

Mix Cool Whip with the softened cream cheese and 1/2 C sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture over the pretzels. Spread the cooled pineapple over the top and refrigerate until set and ready to serve.

Cut into squares to serve.
