Ingredients
- Cherry Berry Sauce:
- 1 1/2 c flour
- 1 T sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 C milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 T vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 C frozen sour cherries, thawed
- 1 C each frozen strawberries and raspberries, thawed
- 1/4 C frozen blueberries
- 1/4 C sugar
- 1/4 C water
- 2 T cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Sauce: Bring fruit, sugar, water, and cornstarch bo a boil over medium-high. Cook for about 1 minute until thickened. Stir in vanilla; keep warm.
In large bowl whisk together dry ingredients. In separate bowl whisk yolks, milk and vanilla. Pour over flour and whisk until well combined and smooth.
Beat whites until soft peaks form. Sprinkle with 1 T sugar; beat until stiff peaks form. Fold 1/4 into batter; fold in remaining whites.
