Step 1
Cook 3 c (10 oz) penne pasta. In large pan melt 1/4 c butter on low heat and stir in 1/3 c flour, salt, 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning, pepper and 2 finely chopped cloves garlic. Cook over medium low heat stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in 3 c milk. Heat to boiling then boil one more minute. Remove from heat and stir in 2 c (8 oz) shredded Italian style cheese blend and 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted. Then stir in pasta and 8 oz smoked, sliced, sausage. Pour into ungreased 3 qt casserole. Sprinkle with 1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese and 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. WE TRIED THIS 04/2010 AND EVERYONE LIKED IT.
