Ingredients
- 1/4 Lb. Dried Beef
- 1 Tbs. Margarine
- 1 Tbs. Flour, heaping
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Chicken Broth
- 1 Hard Boiled Egg
- 2 Tbs. Cooked Peas
- Buttered Toast Squares
Preparation
Step 1
Take 1 package (1/4 pound) dried beef and pull it apart into small pieces. Place into a dish and cover with water. Take beef out and squeeze dry. This makes it much less salty. Put a tablespoon margarine into a frying pan. When hot add the dried beef and stir until it frizzes up. Then add a heaping tablespoon flour. Stir it in well. Add 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup chicken broth. If too thick, add more milk. It should be a nice and creamy sauce. Then add 1 sliced hard boiled egg and 2 tablespoons cooked peas. Pour over buttered toast squares.
