Donair's

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 (12oz) can evaporated milk
  • 3/4 c white sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 tsp vinegar, or as needed

Preparation

Step 1

Place the ground beef in a large bowl and use your hands to blend
in the spice mixture. Do this in a stainless steel bowl and on a
sturdy surface. Pick up the meat, and throw it down with force
about 20 times, kneading after each throw.

Form the meat into a bullet shape and place on a broiler pan.

Bake at 350F for about 1 hr 15 min turning halfway. Allow to
cool before slicing.


Sauce

1 (12oz) can evaporated milk
3/4 c white sugar
2 tsp garlic powder
4 tsp vinegar, or as needed

Mix together milk, sugar and garlic. Gradually whisk in vinegar,
adding 1 tsp at a time, until thickened to desired consistency.
