Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 dash pepper
- 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
- 2/3 cup onions
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
Preparation
Step 1
In medium sauce pan over medium heat in hot butter cook onions until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until blended. Gradually stir in milk and cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. In a 2 quart casserole, arrange half the potatoes in a layer, pour half the sauce on top, repeat the layers. Bake covered 45 minutes at 375 F and then bake 15 minutes uncovered or until tender.
