Maryland Crab Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish optional
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons Old Bay Seafood Seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 -5 slices bread

Preparation

Step 1

Empty crab into bowl and work through your fingers to remove shells. Tear bread into small pieces and put in bowl. Add all ingredients, mixing well. Form cakes and if time permits, let stand in refrigerator for one hour or more. Fry in shortening/oil until golden brown.
