Skillet Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 unbaked pastries for pie shell (homemade or refrigerated store bought)
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 8 Granny Smith apples, peeled & sliced
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • Pats of Butter

Preparation

Step 1

In a 9-inch skillet (one you can put in the oven), melt the butter and brown sugar until bubble and well blended like a caramel.

Place the first pie crust over the caramel mixture. Combine sugar and spices and alternate layers of apples and sugar/spice mixture in the crust. Dot with pats of butter and cover the top with the second pie c rust (do not seal). Sprinkle sugar on the tip and cut slots to allow steam to escape.

Place skillet on cookie sheet to catch run off.
Cook at 425 degrees for 45 minutes.
