Ingredients
- 4-6 egg whites
- Pinch salt
- 225 grams castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 level teaspoons cornflour
Preparation
Step 1
pre heat oven to 200 Celsius
grease oven tray, and lay baking paper on tray
beat eggs whites with a pinch of salt until stiff
continue beating gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla until thick and glossy
lightly fold in cornflour
place on tray and spread into circle
electric oven: turn oven to 130 c and bake for 1 1/2 hours
Gas bake on 2oo for 10 minutes then turn oven to 130 and bake for an hour
Turn oven off and leave pavlova in oven to cool.
