Basic Fast Fruit Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 C fruit (berries, cherries, peaches, plums)
  • 1 C water, divided
  • 2 T cornstarch
  • 1/2 C sugar (or more to taste)
  • 1 T lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Bring 3/4 C water to a boil. Add fruit and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low, cook 5 min.
Blend cornstarch, sugar, 1/4 cup water. Add slowly to fruit. Boil until thick and clear. Stir constantly.
Add more sugar now if needed.
Stir in lemon juice.
Serve warm or cool.
Store in fridge.
