Ingredients
- 16 oz. bag of fresh Collard Greens
- 4 slices low sodium bacon, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1-1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1 T. Better Than Bouillon Ham Base
- 4 T. vinegar
- 2 T. jarred jalapeno sweet & hot pepper juice and/or slices
- Salt & pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Cook bacon in dutch oven until halfway done; add onion and saute. Add broth, ham base, vinegar, pepper juice, salt & pepper, scrapping bottom well.
Push collards down into liquid, mixing well.
Add entire mixture to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6 hrs.
