Apple Sauce Cake - Granny Oakley's

Long time friend of the family - - a tried and true recipe.

Ingredients

• 4 eggs
• 2 cups sugar
• 3 cups applesauce (sweetened)
• 3 cups flour
• 2 sticks butter or oleo
• 2 teaspoon soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup raisins
• 1 tsp. nutmeg
• 1 tsp. allspice
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• 1 tsp. cloves
• 1 tsp. mace
• 1 cup coconut
• 2 cups nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Beat eggs, add sugar, butter, salt and soda. Then 1 cup flour, 2 cups of applesauce. Mix well. Add 2 more cups of flour, 1 cup of applesauce - - mix flour with raisins, nuts, coconut and spices. Mix well. Grease cake pan. Bake very slow at 325 degrees.
